Risk Manager
About the Role
We are looking for a Risk Manager who will oversee the end-to-end risk process for Electrum’s rent-to-own program, ensuring customers are onboarded safely, accurately, and in line with policy. This role is responsible for developing and improving risk assessment frameworks, preventing fraud, ensuring proper eligibility checks, and managing the overall risk exposure of our lease and rent-to-own portfolio.
You will work closely with Sales, Operations, CX, Finance, and Product to ensure that onboarding is smooth while maintaining disciplined risk controls that protect portfolio quality and business sustainability.
What You Will Do
Develop and maintain the risk assessment framework for rent-to-own customers, including eligibility criteria, document checks, scoring, and approval flows.
Oversee the onboarding process, ensuring accurate verification of customer identity, documents, employment, and payment capability.
Identify and prevent fraud patterns (duplicate accounts, fake documents, fabricated employment, mismatched identities, device/number fraud).
Work with Sales and CX teams to enforce proper KYC, affordability, and background checks.
Monitor risk indicators across early repayment behavior, missed payments, customer segments, and geographic patterns.
Analyze customer data to detect high-risk profiles, irregularities, or operational gaps that may increase portfolio loss.
Recommend and implement risk controls such as approval limits, tightened requirements, or additional verification steps.
Maintain a risk register specific to rent-to-own activities and ensure mitigation plans are implemented.
Conduct post-onboarding reviews and audits to ensure process adherence and detect deviations.
Collaborate with Product and Data teams to improve scoring models, verification tools, and automated decisioning.
Support Operations & Repossession teams by identifying early signs of default and recommending intervention strategies.
Prepare regular reports on onboarding performance, approval rates, early-stage delinquency, and loss exposure for management.
Train frontline teams (Sales, CX, Field Ops) on risk awareness, document verification, fraud detection, and compliance.
What You Bring
4–7 years of experience in risk management, fraud prevention, consumer lending, leasing, microfinance, BNPL, or mobility subscription models.
Strong understanding of credit assessment, identity verification, underwriting, and risk scoring.
Experience with risk tools such as KYC checks, fraud detection systems, data validation, and verification workflows.
Ability to analyze customer data, identify risk patterns, and make recommendations based on insights.
Strong operational understanding of onboarding workflows and risk-process mapping.
Solid communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional stakeholders.
Ability to design, document, and enforce policies and SOPs related to customer eligibility and onboarding risk.
Nice to Have
Experience in EV, mobility, fleet, leasing, or rent-to-own industries.
Knowledge of Indonesian credit landscape (banking, P2P lending, credit scoring, telco data).
Familiarity with fraud detection tools (EKYC providers, face match, liveness, OCR).
Experience building or improving automated decision engines.
